Something Silk provides the latest styles in South Asian & Indian clothing to consumers – to rent.  Our philosophy is simple: South Asian apparel is expensive and living in the United States, people either do not find the need to wear them often, or want to wear the latest and greatest styles.  South Asian culture and events have been growing steadily across the United States across the last several years.  We have also noticed an increase in non-South Asian participation, with everyone wanting to embrace other cultures.

At Something Silk, we want all women to feel like they can immerse themselves in our culture, without breaking the bank.  South Asian clothes have some of the most glamorous, beautiful fashions in the industry, so it’s no wonder that many people want the opportunity to wear ethnic clothing.

Priyanka Patel, founder of Something Silk, has always been an entrepreneur at heart.  Since college she's been taking initiatives to start up new organizations and make them thrive.  Her most recent role working at a start up has helped her master the day to day operational aspects of running a business.  Priyanka was born and brought up in New Jersey, but still has a deep passion for South Asian culture.
Priyanka is a mother of 2 girls, and prior to her current role, she worked as a Sr. Business Manager in Technology in Corporate America for over 13 years. Priyanka has an MBA from NYU Stern, and a Bachelors of Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
